CHINA
In 2011, I traveled to China with the intention of creating a photo series, leaving the specifics open to discovery. It soon became clear that the focus would be the relationship between people and their environment. The series captures two distinct aspects of China: the dynamic energy of its modern cities and the quiet beauty of its rural countryside.
ZIMBABWE
After graduating as a photographer in 2015, I felt the need to step out of my comfort zone. That’s when I traveled to Zimbabwe and stayed with a local family in the suburbs of Harare. This project turned out to be a life-changing experience. As someone used to the comforts of middle-class life in the West, I found myself in a place where I had to pump water, bathe using a plastic tub, and adapt to a completely different way of living. Even simple outings to local pubs became unforgettable experiences.
This series is my attempt to capture the essence of that transformative journey.
